A Pair of Steltman Chairs, Gerrit Rietveld

Designed in 1963 by Gerrit Rietveld for the Steltman jewellery store in the Netherlands, these chairs were originally used while couples chose their engagement and wedding rings.
 
First produced with an artificial leather covering, the timber versions produced from 1964 onwards are now the better-known versions of these iconic chairs.
