6 BATHROOM TRENDS TO WATCH IN 2025

6 BATHROOM TRENDS TO WATCH IN 2025

Bathrooms are becoming one of the most exciting rooms in the home to be creative and experiment with bolder design trends and choices to elevate your everyday self-care rituals. As an interior stylist, I’ve often noticed that the bathroom is overlooked as a room to embrace creativity and self-expression but looking forward to 2025 I think that the bathroom will continue on its current trajectory as becoming one of the most-loved spaces in the home. Here are my predictions for bathroom trends to watch for in the year ahead!

1. Tile Drenching
Tile drenching is an effective way to achieve a sense of luxury and make a statement. Tile drenching means covering the bathroom ceiling-to-floor, and even cladding the bath, with tiles. Much like colour drenching, which involves layering a room in one featured colour, tile drenching creates a bold, visual impact by enveloping the space. Making it look bigger than it actually is.

2. Statement Lighting
Another trend that will make its way into the bathroom in 2025 is a preference for artful or sculptural lighting. From sculptural pendants, to luxe Murano sconces, lighting that’s almost a piece of art in itself can make a beautiful statement in a bathroom, drawing the eye in and adding drama and character to the room.

3. Unexpected use of stone
Our obsession with stone, particularly marble, isn’t going anywhere and I love the trend of using a small piece of marble cut into a shape to create a feature on the floor or wall. Another small way that marble or other “luxury” stone can be incorporated is as a trim on a door frame, or just on the floor in the doorway to delineate between spaces. While this has been around for the past couple of years, it’s becoming an increasingly popular way to introduce a touch of luxury into the bathroom. This is an interesting way to create zones in your space and, most importantly, means you won’t blow the entire budget on stone.

4. Playful classic European luxury
A blend of playful with classic European luxury in bathrooms will continue to be a major trend in bathroom design. Blending traditional elegance with whimsical elements through the use of materials like marble, brass accents, and ornate fixtures. Combining these features with vibrant colours and quirky patterns, introduces a fun, modern twist while evoking timeless grandeur.

5. Wellness at home
I’ve noticed a trend in interiors for retreat-like bathrooms at home, with clients willing to sacrifice elsewhere in their budgets if it means having a luxurious main ensuite. This is part of the broader trend of the importance of the home as a place to retreat to and recharge. In 2025 the desire for bathrooms that transcend functionality and offer a sanctuary for relaxation, self-care, and renewal will continue we’ll see more steam showers & rooms, saunas, and bathrooms reminiscent of a hotel spa. These wellness spaces offer a sanctuary for relaxation, self-care, and renewal all within the comfort of home.

6. A sense of drama
Powder rooms and bathrooms can leave just as much of a lasting impression as other spaces in the home. And being able to play in a small space is a fun way to experiment with trends that might be intimidating on a larger scale elsewhere in the home. From striking contrasts in colour and texture to bold patterned floors and dramatic statement lighting, there’s no reason bathrooms need to be ordinary. People are stepping away from the predictable, embracing a more creative, artful approach to design that turns these spaces into true works of art.
