2025 kitchens are embracing a harmonious blend of functionality and artistry, with design trends that prioritise sustainability, individuality, and tactile comfort. Here, I’m sharing my list of kitchen trends to watch for.
1. Sleek Stainless Steel
Stainless steel was everywhere at Milan Design Week in 2024 and this sleek, sophisticated material is set to continue its reign in 2025. This isn’t just a passing trend but rather the continuation of a broader movement I’m seeing across design where cooler-toned metals are making a comeback, and kitchens are at the forefront of this. Once a staple in commercial kitchens, stainless steel is now finding its place in luxury homes and modern spaces, proving that it offers the perfect blend of contemporary style and timeless appeal. Its polished surface adds a sleek, modern edge, while its inherent durability and versatility make it a go-to for designers looking to create functional yet stylish spaces. I am seeing stainless steel blended with warm neutral tones, textured tiles and juxtaposed with vintage elements to create a balance between old and new.

2. Tiled Benchtops
Tiled benchtops, a staple of 1970s and 80s kitchen design, are making a stylish comeback in 2025, offering a fresh take on this retro trend. One of the advantages of tiled benchtops is the range of options they provide in terms of colors, textures, and patterns, allowing homeowners to craft a truly personalised look. From glossy, hand-glazed tiles to matte, earthy ceramics, the possibilities are endless for creating a benchtop that reflects your unique style. Beyond aesthetics, tiled benchtops are a practical, budget-friendly alternative to expensive stone surfaces, making them an appealing choice for those who want high-impact design without the high cost.

3. Statement Kitchen Islands
Making bold design statements in the kitchen is a trend that’s on the radar for 2025. I’m seeing sculptural brutalist island benches and unexpected proud colour combinations. Gone are the days of playing it safe and in 2025 it’s all about being confident and pushing the boundaries with a strong design focal point in the kitchen. We’re witnessing a shift toward audacious, sculptural designs that make a statement. Think island benches with strong, angular shapes and textures that turn the kitchen into a work of art, where form and function collide in the most striking way to create spaces which are unapologetic, experimental, and filled with personality.

4. Coloured-In Cupboards
Bold-coloured joinery is having a moment, but incorporating colour into any room can sometimes feel daunting. A playful trend I’ve been noticing is joinery cabinetry either specified or painted in a surprising contrast colour. It’s fun, uplifting and adds an unexpected pop of colour into your kitchen. The key is finding the right balance that makes the space feel curated and thoughtful while still pushing the boundaries of traditional design. In 2025, expect kitchens to be filled with vibrant, mood-enhancing hues that make every moment in the kitchen feel like a celebration.

5. Brown Bronze Tapware
With warm neutrals dominating interior design in recent years, it’s no surprise that these earthy tones are now influencing tapware, with brown bronze finishes emerging as a key trend in 2025. This versatile hue, particularly in a brushed finish, seamlessly complements kitchens styled in warm, neutral palettes, creating a cohesive and inviting look. Brown bronze tapware offers a sophisticated balance of classic elegance and modern simplicity, making it an ideal choice for those seeking timeless design with a contemporary edge. Its tone softens the overall aesthetic, pairing beautifully with natural materials like stone, wood, and textured tiles, while adding just enough depth and contrast to elevate the space. Whether featured in a minimalist kitchen or a more rustic setting, brown bronze tapware brings a sense of warmth and refinement to the heart of the home.
